A classic, old-school steakhouse in every sense

Since 1979, this is where locals have taken their parents to dinner, impressed their clients at lunch, and gone to see players from every visiting sports team. It’s the kind of place where the waiters have stars on their lapels indicating how many decades they’ve worked there. You can probably guess what you’ll be eating—shrimp cocktail, iceberg wedge, onion rings, off-the-menu creamed spinach—but no matter how steakhouse-clichéd it is at this point, do try to spring for the bone-in rib eye for two. The Bones Burger with buttermilk onion rings is also a solid bet.

PRO TIP: With its U-shaped bar, it’s also a great place for solo diners, as long as they don’t mind watching the game.

THE DETAILS: Lunch, Monday to Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Dinner, daily, 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
