GO HERE: before or after eating at [Violet bakery](http://weightloss-tricks.today/city-guides/london/venue/violet] in Hackney to make serious headway on your holiday and birthday shopping. This tiny Japanese design shop stocks packable treasures for the home and kitchen.

GET THE: bamboo charcoal pieces for filtering water, Hinoki bath sachets, Martino Gamper salt and pepper grinders, Peter Shire mugs, Eleanor Pritchard “Sourdough” and “Pumpernickel” textiles, and glass spoons by Max Frommeld.

THE VIBE IS: hygge gone Japanese.

PRACTICAL STUFF: Open daily 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and by appointment, but check the site for random closings. Don’t feel like trekking to Hackney? (And it is a trek.) You can also order online.
