GO HERE: for simple, affordable Mexican-made household basics. UM offers items that are beautiful in their simplicity and chosen for their utility; some are sourced from around the country while others are made specifically for the stores.

GET THE: enamel cookware, woven potholders in vivid colors, copper cups, ice shaver (well, why not?).

THE VIBE IS: organized clutter. Design-minded shoppers are drawn in by the attractive displays, but people really do go here for things they need.

PRACTICAL STUFF: Two locations (Centro and San Ángel neighborhoods); each opens daily at noon and closes at 9 p.m.
