Finding a good, non-touristy drink in Times Square was thought to be impossible. And then the folks behind Ward III in Tribeca opened this bar in the Hotel Edison, serving real cocktails (and, of course, lots and lots of rum). The dimly-lit wood-paneled room gets super-suity after work—what, you’re expecting Bushwick?—but once the live jazz and piano-bar music starts at around 9:30, you’re dealing with a more Hells Kitchen-y crowd, which is way more relaxed. If you’re thirsty post-theater or just need a place near your hotel that won’t make you experience tourist rage, this is it.

PRO TIP: This is the place to discover how delicious a real daiquiri is.

THE DETAILS: Open daily from noon to 4 a.m.
