The kind of kitchen store you see in movies (like, ones with Julia Child in them)

GO HERE: to get lost in the aisles of real-deal French kitchen gear.

GET THE: copper pots (that jam pan!), Laguiole knives and corkscrews, madeleine and canelé molds, carbon steel knives, and so on.

THE VIBE IS: brisk and professional, if borderline chaotic. If you need help, the staff is behind a counter, not roaming the aisles.

PRACTICAL STUFF: Don’t come here in a hurry (or hungry): You’ll need time to calm down and take it all in. Language can be an issue, so prepare to resort to charades. Open 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Mondays, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday to Saturday.
