The Rittenhouse
Because old-school feels new again, in a central location

Hotels like they used to make them, with a “how can I assist you?” staff, harp music in the lobby, and a fireplace by the bar. The room decor can be quite traditional, too (read stuffy), but as rooms get an upgrade to a more modern and chic appearance, that won’t be a problem for much longer (some have already gotten a makeover; the rest will be done by 2017). The central location and views of the beautiful Rittenhouse Square are a plus.
PRO TIP: Don’t miss the Rittenhouse Farmers’ Market on Saturdays, just outside the hotel.
THE DETAILS: Rooms from $399.
