Liholiho Yacht Club
Sure, we all know about the poké craze by now. But chef Ravi Kapur has turned his always sold-out pop-up into one of SF’s most popular openings of the year by pairing the flavors of Hawaiian cuisine—that means Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Filipino, and other influences—with CA’s produce and turning it into a really good time. This happily meandering space opens at 5 p.m. and is packed by 5:17, as tech workers and creatives flow in for cocktails, fried oysters, and beef-tongue buns, segueing into Spam musubi (always available, even if it’s not on the menu), clams with black bean sauce, and more. And be sure to get the baked Hawaii with caramelized pineapple ice cream.
PRO TIP: In order to make the most of the menu, you want to come with four to six friends. If you’re solo or with a date, grab a seat at the bar: The extremely helpful bartenders will walk you through their favorite dishes.
THE DETAILS: Dinner only. Monday to Thursday, 5 to 10:30 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 5 to 11 p.m.
