Trick Dog
Give in to the concept at this Mission favorite and you will be rewarded. The cocktail menu changes twice a year—by which we mean the theme, the brilliant drinks, and the super-smart design. One menu was based on Pantone chips, another horoscopes. The warehouse space fills up early and gets pretty nuts—all the better to grab a table upstairs and eat. Elevated bar food includes the easy-to-eat Trick Dog (a tubular burger in a hot dog bun), short rib tacos, and a kale salad that doesn’t feel clichéd. Sure, everyone around you is talking tech, but after a few drinks, it starts making sense.
PRO TIP: They open at 3 p.m., so go early, then have dinner nearby at Flour + Water. Or if you plan to make a night of it, stop by Sightglass Coffee next door first.
