Seattle isn’t a particularly Spanish-inflected city, but thanks to the 30-odd years of the Spanish Table, it is a fantastic place for a deep dive into Iberian flavors. Come here to geek out on Sherry or Basque cider, stock up on paella ingredients (and equipment), or vow to start cooking in a new earthenware cazuela. You may want to invent a picnic excursion on a ferry—may we suggest Bainbridge Island’s Bloedel Reserve?—just to enjoy assembling some jamón serrano, Manchego, and guindilla pepper bocadillos.

PRO TIP: While many Spanish Table items are heavy or tricky to travel with, there are packable delights like smoked paprika, leathery-sweet dried ñora peppers, and muslin bags of fine bomba rice. You can also order some items online.

THE DETAILS: Located just below the Pike Place Market (there are stairs at the back of the market hall that climb down to Western Avenue).
