“Although the shelf life of most products sold there is short, Higashiya is the best place to buy gifts. The store sells wagashi, traditional Japanese confections usually eaten with tea. I particularly love the rice wafers shaped to look like pieces of binchotan charcoal. They come with different flavorings inside; my favorite is black sesame.”
