I love checking out the oddball snacks, new-to-me ingredients, and local candies that line grocery shelves in foreign countries. One recent find is Kvikk Lunsj, a familiar-looking chocolate treat from Norway whose name means "quick lunch." The bars are must-haves for hikers and skiers. Me? I like them just as much when eaten indoors in summer.

Kvikk Lunsj. $2.50 each; nordicdeli.com
