Chala June is a Bon Appétit contributor. Their work with the BA team began in 2021 after several years in the food industry as a line cook, barista, prep baker, cheesemonger, and more. Raised in Silver Spring, MD, Chala moved to Brooklyn after getting a Bachelor's in Writing, Literature, and Publishing from Emerson College in 2018. Their work at BA spans a variety of topics both print and online, from cookbook reviews to cultural critiques with a special interest in culinary explorations of Black and queer identity.
