Emily Johnson head shot - Bon Appétit

Emily Johnson

Associate Director of Commerce

Emily joined Bon Appétit in 2022. Before that, she spent five years at BA’s sister site, Epicurious, where she quickly developed a passion for testing and writing about cooking gear. Over her seven-year career at Condé Nast’s cooking websites, she’s filled her kitchen with hundreds of knives, pizza ovens, and pans and spent countless hours testing them to find the best version of every kind of tool and appliance for home cooks. Emily now manages a team of experts who are constantly testing and writing across brands to keep you up to date on all the latest kitchen gear. She thrives on making gallons of nut milk with a viral new almond milk maker and overstuffing the latest NutriBullet with kale and dates to see how it compares to our all-time favorite blenders. She once went on CBS Sunday Morning to talk about how much she loves can openers. Emily lives in New York and studied literature at The New School.
