Emma Laperruque head shot - Bon Appétit

Emma Laperruque

Associate Director of Cooking

Emma leads cooking coverage across Bon Appétit and Epicurious, focusing on service-forward content for home cooks. Depending on the hour, you might find her editing a series like Fourth Trimester or Feel-Good Food Plan, trying nine types of mayonnaise, marking up layouts for the print magazine, attending a test kitchen tasting, reviewing the daily newsletter, or developing recipes (like Sheet-Pan Halloumi With Avocado and Citrus). Emma especially loves collaborating on annual projects like Thanksgiving (this kicks off in the summer in food media) and The Bon Appétit 56, which she helped launch in 2023. Before joining the Condé Nast food team, Emma was the food editor at Food52, where she led the site’s recipe program and created an award-winning column called Big Little Recipes. In 2021, she turned Big Little Recipes into her debut cookbook, published by Ten Speed Press and named one of the best of the year by The Washington Post. She has also worked as a line cook, nocturnal baker, and freelance journalist. Emma lives in the Taylor-ham-half of New Jersey with her husband and their cat, Butter.
