Wendy Jo Hess

Wendy Jo Hess is the baker behind Wendy Jo’s Homemade in Lancaster, Pennsylvania’s historic Central Market. She started the stand in 2003, forging a path that followed her mother and grandmother, who had also worked at the market. Hess grew up on a farm in Lancaster County, where her first job was working in the family dairy store making ice cream. Though she sold Wendy Jo’s Homemade in 2019, she continues to be a fixture in the community, having transitioned into real estate.
