Every day in December through Christmas, we’re sharing a cookie recipe. Forget the 12 Days of Christmas—these are the 25 Days of Cookies.
Doilies are beautiful and everything, but if you ask us, there's a couple of problems with them:
- They're not cookies.
- See 1.
- See 2.
That's why we've come to prefer, after many taste tests, these orange-almond lace cookies. It's simple, really; they are cookies. They have all the delicate elegance of doilies—they're quite shapely—but you can eat them, and people won't give you a funny look, because they're meant to be eaten. And everyone around you will want to join in; the almonds and grated orange peel will see to that.
