In 2011, we vow to eat healthier without sacrificing flavor. (See our Food-Lover's Cleanse, which kicks off January 2.) What about you? We asked our Facebook and Twitter fans, "What are your cooking- or other food-related New Year's resolutions?" Here are some of our favorite answers:
@Camsouthc: I am going to start a tradition of preparing dinner on Sunday twice a month for friends.
Jennifer McQuain: More farmers' markets, grass-fed beef, fresh chickens and pork from local farmers.
@positiveoutrage: To bake more homemade breads in 2011!
Lisa M Davis: One new recipe a week. I love to cook and I have tons of cookbooks and food mags but I still find myself in a rut. So, I will resolve to cook at least one new recipe per week.
@kellymdurk: To try more new foods. I've been surprised with some of the culinary adventures from this year and I want more!
Megan McHale Reynolds: My husband and I are starting French Fridays - each Friday evening, we're cooking something from Julia Child.
Belle Wiecha: To try canning so I can store the stuff from my garden or market to use throughout next winter!
@OnBlank: I resolve to work on technique this year. Perfecting those techniques I know and mastering as many as I can of the rest!
Sharon Yablon: To eat popcorn at home without butter...I've tried everything!
Diane Ingraham: Start an herb garden to use in meals.
Jan Young: Lots more fruits and veggies, and less cheese (sigh).
@banana_stand: I vow to use my brand new Le Creuset once a week.
Margret Hefner: Eat more.
