We Go to Music Festivals for the Food

We'd rather wait in line for gallons of queso than wait in line to see Elvis... almost.

Welcome to Bon Appétit's first-ever Culture Issue! All month long we'll be bringing you stories from the intersection of food and music and entertainment and politics and more. (Psst, subscribe here!)

Do you remember what you used to eat at music festivals? We don't–because it was so unremarkable. Now amped-up tacos and artisanal ice pops are as much of a draw as the headliners. After all, you've gotta give the people what they want–and the people want tasty food.

We caught the crowd at Austin's Fun Fun Fun Fest digging in, and asked them what we really want to know: What their favorite queso, taco truck, and food-lyric-in-song is.
