Yesterday on his No Reservations blog, Anthony Bourdain gave a preview of what's to come in next week's Chistmas special, asking:
Yeah, they're all in the "scandalous, dark, action-packed fever dream of a Holiday Show" (quoting Bourdain himself, again), which airs on the 12th. Apparently, though, the "nightmare Eastern European folklore Krampus" part got left on the cutting room floor. It was deemed too dark for even this strange-sounding show.
Nothing's too dark for YouTube, though, so you can still see the (admittedly non-food-related) Krampus segment right here. For those who aren't familiar with the kreepy guy, he's a Central and Eastern European folk figure that eats children around Christmastime (after whipping them with a flail made of tree branches). Merry Christmas!
