Queen Elizabeth Turns 91, Still Loves Cake

Don't stand between a queen and her cake.

Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II turns 91 this week. 91! That's 17.3 in corgi years, in case you were wondering. And while we can't relate to the Queen on many levels (pill box hats, being the longest-reigning British monarch, etc), we can very much agree on at least two things: Corgis are the answer to everlasting happiness, and cake is awesome.

If you've ever googled GIFs of corgis when you're feeling low, might we recommend looking for images of "the-queen-and-cake"? Her face lights aglow like a kid who's just found out she has an unlimited supply of corgis, funky hats, and a tenured position atop the throne. Pure, unadulterated, divinely-appointed joy!
