On Sunday, Gordon Ramsay got wrecked by a retired professional soccer player named Teddy Sheringham. Ramsay was playing in the Soccer Aid game, a benefit for UNICEF that gathered a ridiculous number of famous people in one place (including lots of real American celebrities like Will Ferrell and Ed Norton, not just confusing British ones). And weirdly, after knocking Ramsay to the ground, Sheringham smooshed his hand all over the fallen chef's face. Maybe it's a soccer thing.
After hitting the turf, Ramsay was taken off the field on a stretcher for a back injury. A spokesperson said that Ramsay is in some pain, but didn't suffer any permanent damage. Chefs are a resilient bunch.
