Cookies, Cake Balls, and Puppies! Celebrating Momofuku Milk Bar's Newest Store
In late September, Momofuku Milk Bar opened another location in Manhattan’s SoHo. So to offer a hearty welcome to the block, we threw Milk Bar a party with its neighbor, the trendy clothing shop Band of Outsiders. Naturally, there were cookies, of course, and beers. And puppies. Wait, what?
That’s right, puppies. Because Band of Outsiders founder Scott Sternberg and Milk Bar empress Christina Tosi both have pups they can’t get enough of, so what better way to have fun than with a bunch of folks and their canine friends? “We wanted to open the store up—to bring people in and celebrate Milk Bar. And it's in the spirit of family and dogs saying, 'Come and hang!'” Sternberg explained.
And that’s just what everyone did. There were plenty of puppies (from Brooklyn’s Puppy Paradise) to pet and love and adopt, if you were so inclined, along with dog biscuits made by Tosi herself. And whether or not you had a birthday truffle or a slice of the giant cornflake-chocolate chip-marshmallow cookie cake, you were at a party with a bunch of cool folks and puppies, and that’s all that really matters.
