Kanye West Announces A New Era In Savory Frozen Treats
“Yeezy's Freezies” Goes H.A.M. With Actual Ham
CHICAGO (October 10, 2013) – Multi-platinum Hip-Hop icon Kanye West revealed his latest plans for world domination today with the introduction of YEEZY'S FREEZIES, an all-new entrant in the fast-casual frozen meal replacement category.
Inspired by the legendary car crash that caused his jaw to be wired shut, West has always wanted to offer a meal alternative for the millions of American who avoid solid food on a regular basis. Instead of a “Boost for breakfast and an Ensure for dessert,” Kanye's answer is Yeezy's Freezies, set to open this week in Chicago's historic Bronzeville neighborhood. The fast-casual storefront will offer blended meals from a full menu of signature “Drop-Ins®.”
After years of success in both music and impregnating Armenian celebrities, West has set his sight on the burgeoning world of frozen food meal replacement and vows to make Yeezy's Freezies the industry leader in liquified food. “Drink'n is da new Eatin! #yeezyfreezie” tweeted West this morning and his followers agree. The tweet was retweeted 14.1k times and favorited by 247.1k people. The #yeezyfreezie hashtag was trending in 80% of the United States, as well as Brazil, Croatia, and Latvia. West later tweeted “Call me #Freezus,” which will also be the name of Kanye's next album, available exclusively in December in Yeezy's Freezies locations around the US.
The menu, designed by West with help from baby mama Kim Kardashian and industry veteran Drew Nieporent, aims to take chewing out of the equation with four different delicious categories of blended drinks. Guests can also create their own Yeezy Freezie by mixing and matching from a roster of 40 delectable ingredients including aged parmesan, sun-dried tomatoes, and a proprietary olive called “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.”
The “Piggas in Paris” section features eight beverages derived from denatured pork, including “H.A.M & Cheese,” “Gold Pigger,” and a decadent take on traditional soul food staples with ham hocks and collard greens called “Watch the Bone.” Seafood fans get in on the action with the “Touch the Sea” category, a sardine-based line of beverages rich in Omega 3 fatty acids and heavy on swag. “All of the Lites” is for the weight-conscious with non-fat yogurt used as a base and organic vegetable Drop-Ins® that taste great while leaving you feeling great. The final menu spotlight falls on “Through the Chicken Wire,” a range of blended poultry products that is already being lauded as a new innovator in fowl technology.
All packaging was designed by Khloe Kardashian-Odom and features Kanye's adorably iconic “Dropout Bear” and the tagline “Heard 'Em Say This is Amazing!” Twelve ounce “Lil' Norths” retail for $11.95, while sixteen ounce “8-0-8s” sell for $14.95.
There are currently plans to open seventy-four new Yeezy's Freezies outlets throughout the United States and Canada over the next four months.
