As we established in our pasta taste test, Del Posto chef Mark Ladner is the boss when it comes to pasta. While we were hanging in that restaurant's four-star kitchen (everything is so shiny!), we happened upon the above: a massive iced coffee served in a wine glass. What?
"
Our coffee ninja Nurul makes me one upon my arrival each morning," explains Ladner. But the chef doesn't demand the coffee: "He does it not because I ask, but because he's a friendly and committed overachiever who takes his coffee beverages very seriously."
So what exactly is this glorious caffeinated brew? "It's a
dark iced Americano with milk, shaken not stirred, pour over Kold-Draft ice cubes
for slow dilution with just enough fine white sugar to take the edge off." The straws, by the way, allow for "rapid consumption." Truth: We could all use a Nurul in our lives. --Matt Duckor
