The abbreviation "gmlet" was used in the telegraph days as shorthand for "Give My Love To." And to keep the original intent alive, we will be giving our love to this cold, refreshing cucumber gimlet this weekend.
The cocktail is made cool (and a little crunchy) by a summertime vegetable known for its calming properties. So kick back and enjoy this drink in the shade. While you're at it, slice up an extra two cucumber slices and place them over your eyes, spa-style. It's been a long week. You deserve it. --Brette Warshaw
