Welcome to Meatless Monday, a column in which we feature vegetarian recipes to help reverse the carnivorous sins of the weekend.
A malfatto (Italian for "badly made") is a dumpling with rustic character. These aren't pretty elbow macaroni, or even fork-dimpled gnocchi; these are hand-formed, misshapen little balls of dough. So, stress? Worries? Fuhgeddaboudit!
In other news, it is a bit of work to trim and cook the chard. But you can simplify the recipe by substituting frozen spinach, if desired. See? You can't malfatto that.
