Aeropress Clear XL Coffee Press → 26% off
Lightweight and portable, the Aeropess Clear XL makes up to four cups of smooth, full-bodied coffee that’s grit-free and not bitter. To brew, place a paper filter into the filter cap, twist it onto the brewing chamber, then rest the chamber on the included carafe. Add coffee grounds and hot water to the chamber, stir, then insert the plunger halfway in to create a vacuum. Give it a minute, then slowly press down on the plunger until the coffee fills the carafe. If you prefer a smaller brewer, try the original Aeropress, which makes a single cup and is also on sale.
Oxo Rapid Brewer → 20% off
The Rapid Brewer is Oxo's answer to the Aeropress. It comes with all the portability of the Aeropress, but also uses a metal mesh filter (which is good and bad: It's reusable, but also requires more cleaning), and uses its presurized brewing to make cold brew as well as hot coffee. It is a tad more complicated than the Aeropress—the instructions will tell you to tamp your coffee like you might an espresso shot, for example—but it's still a fantastic on-the-go coffee maker.
Bruvi Single-Serve Coffee System → 15% off
Making coffee is a no-brainer with the Bruvi, a pod machine that does all the thinking for you. It has an easy-to-navigate touchscreen with presets for low-acid, americano, iced coffee, and cold brew. When you insert one of its proprietary B-pods, the Bruvi scans it and adjusts its brew parameters accordingly. The Mara X is beautiful machine with its real wood accents (the light maple is lovely) and has been consistently making excellent espresso for senior editor Noah Kaufman for more than two years. Breville Bambino Plus → $100 off
If the Lelit seems like a bit much to you, Breville's Bambino Plus is a killer beginner espresso machine. It brews the same quality shot as most of the more expensive Breville machines and uses the automatic milk steaming that Breville has mastered as well. The real win (besides the sub $400 price tag, which is as inexpensive as a reasonable espresso machine will cost) is the tiny footprint of the Bambino plus. It will fit comfortably in any kitchen, no matter how small.
De'Longhi La Specialista Touch → $300 off
In our opinion, the La Specialista Touch is De’Longhi’s best espresso machine yet. It brews nine different coffee drinks, including cold brew, cappuccino, flat whites, and lattes, and features automatic milk texturing, though you have the option to control the steam wand manually. The machine has a built-in grinder, and guides you in selecting the correct grind, dose, and brewing temperature. You can also save settings for different beans, so you can experiment with different blends and still maintain consistency.

Making good coffee when you’re traveling away from home takes some planning. Making good espresso? That’s almost impossible. One of the few tools we’ve found that can really produce a café-quality shot in package small enough to fit in a backpack is the Picopresso from Wacaco. Takeya Tritan Cold Brew Maker → 29% off
Takeya’s Deluxe Cold Brew Maker is a great choice for those who are new to making cold brew at home. We’re not just fans of Fellow’s coffee makers—we also like its coffee grinder. The eye-catching Opus has 41 grind settings, which you can tweak slightly using an inner ring, and creates a fine espresso grind, coarse cold-brew grind, and pretty much any other grind to suit your coffee needs. The minimalist machine has 40-mm conical burrs and includes nice features like a magnetically aligned catch cup that snaps securely in place and a smaller “dosing cup” that lets you transfer a shot’s worth of grounds to the portafilter without making a mess.
Fellow Ode → 20% off
Fellow’s first coffee grinder is their best. The heavy-duty, flat-burred Ode has an easy adjustment, auto shut-off, and sizeable single dose hopper that grind just enough coffee for a full pot (perhaps from their Aiden brewer). It’d be our top pick for the best coffee grinder overall if it were not for the fact that it can’t grind fine enough for espresso. But that was a deliberate choice to maximize the quality of the grind for all the other brewing methods while keeping costs down. So if you brew in absolutely any way besides in an espresso machine. The Ode ought to be on your short list.
Baratza Encore ESP → 20% off
Baratza began rolling a series of improvements to their basic Encore burr grinder a couple years ago that included the Encore ESP (the ESP stands for espresso). With more espresso-specific settings and an improved burr that is also easier to remove for cleaning and maintenance, the ESP (along with Fellow’s Opus) are the center of the venn diagram for affordable, quality espresso grinding.
Oxo Brew Conical Burr Coffee Grinder → 20% off
Burr grinders can be expensive, but this one from Oxo is a wonderful choice for anyone watching their budget. After indicating your preferred roast level, brew type, and coffee quantity (ranging from half a bag to four bags), Atlas sends a monthly delivery of beans with an ID card that details sourcing information and tasting notes. “I love to try new coffee varieties and appreciate the difference; if you feel similarly, then Atlas is a great option for you,” said our tester. In just the last couple months Atlas also launched it's newest product: K-Cups made from their single origin coffee beans. We are not fans of K-Cups in general, but if you are or you love a K-Cup person, these will be better than whatever you all have brewing right now.
