It's hump day. Why not celebrate with something sweet? Welcome to Baking Wednesday.
And so it begins.
With the Thanksgiving pie craze out of the way, it's time to shift your focus to the next holiday dessert: the Christmas cookie. If you're like us, you'll probably spend all of December baking countless versions of festive yuletide creations. (And we'll be giving you a cookie recipe each day from December 1 to December 25, just for that purpose.) But before you break out the frosting, sprinkles, and cookie cutters, why not give these elegant French pastries a try? They might not be shaped like a Christmas tree or dressed in red and green, but their buttery, lightly spiced flavor is darn good.
Trust us, the gingerbread men can wait. --Marly Williams
