How Camille Becerra Balances Cooking and Skincare
Released on 12/12/2018
Hi, I'm Camille Becerra, chef,
entrepreneur and recipe developer.
My life is cooking and food is my passion.
My chef's philosophy is that it's the whole experience
so when you see a dish it shouldn't just look pretty,
it should also be really delicious.
The food very simple, but creative.
Flavors are important, you want to marry and balance
the sweetness with the saltiness.
Like a beautiful sort of manifestation
of balance in my life.
Balance to me is taking the time
to have my body and mind meet.
Cooking can be very therapeutic,
but my line of work is very hard on my hands.
Hot water, washing, steam, acids
and little nicks and cuts that you just get
when you're working fast with sharp objects.
I need to quickly restore balance to my dry cracked skin
so I can continue doing what I love
without painful distractions.
When my hands feel great I can do what I do effortlessly.
Being a chef has inspired other aspects of my life,
it's important for me to make time for my family
and friends as well as jobs that push my creativity
so that I'm always being challenged.
For me, the ideal meal is being around people
that I love and care for,
it's about the environment, that's my perfect meal.
