I'm Jamie Siegel and I'm the Naturalist here at Ventana.

A Naturalist is a student of nature.

Someone who is really enthusiastic about their surroundings

and enjoys sharing it with other people.

For me, Big Sur was love at first sight.

And Ventana is a very iconic establishment in the area.

So having the opportunity to work here was perfect.

Guests always ask, What's the best time to come?

And really, every day out here's

a chance to see something beautiful.

For me, it's the redwoods, they're so unique to this area

and a lot of people have never stood beneath a tree

of that mass before.

Here at Ventana, our falconry experience gives guests

a chance to be up close and personal with birds

they otherwise would not get the chance to see.

Such as an owl, that spends most of it's time at night.

The peregrine falcon, or maybe a Harris's hawk.

The food at Ventana is an adventure.

And an opportunity to try something

that maybe you've never tried before.

I'm always pleasantly surprised to see something in my dish

that maybe you would find in nature.

Such as the fiddlehead fern.

And it connects you to your surroundings.

Ventana is unique in the way that it integrates nature

with the guest experience.

Glamping is luxurious camping.

It's where nature meets luxury.

And guests really get a chance to be submerged in nature

down in our redwood canyon.

And feel like that they've had

a really amazing outdoor experience.

The vibe at Ventana is relaxing and invigorating.

Being close to the ocean like this,

it is a very powerful force,

but it is also very relaxing force

and I feel like Ventana you get that feeling of both.
