This Election, Eat Your Feelings in Sundae-Form
Released on 10/19/2016
[Donald Trump Voiceover] I'm gonna make our country safe.
[Hillary ClintonVoiceover] Voiceover] There's so much of
what he's just said that's not right,
but he gets to run his campaign anyway he chooses.
(rock music)
(people talking over each other)
(chip bag crinkling)
So we are making Cheeto ice cream,
and it is shockingly delicious,
[Keavy] One of Alison and my favorite things to do
is brainstorm weird desserts and weird cocktails.
So immediately, Alison was like orange.
We should have orange ice cream,
maybe like orange sherbert, and then we were like no,
we need something more ridiculous than orange sherbert.
So we've let this steep overnight in the refrigerator,
and we need it nice and cold
so that we can whip it into whipped cream.
Our favorite part, you lift the Cheeto layer,
oh my, and get it nice and smooth.
And now, just gonna whisk it 'till it's whipped cream.
Here, I'll trade ya.
[Alison] So we're gonna need to cans
of sweetened condensed milk,
about half a teaspoon of salt,
about half a cup of shredded, grated cheddar,
and that's it.
Super simple, no churning needed.
You want to let it freeze
for about five hours or so, or longer.
So we're gonna build our You're Fired sundae,
inspired by Mr. Donald Trump.
You're gonna start with like a nice, hefty scoop
of that Cheeto ice cream that we made.
Red for republicans.
We call these winkles.
It's like a gold glitter
because Donald loves everything gold,
if you've been to Trump Tower,
you know what I'm talking about.
It's all bling.
This is sorta to symbolize his quaff, his do.
Just a little color,
and we're gonna take some overproof rum,
and light it on fire, very carefully, set it on fire.
And there is your flaming...
Flaming You're Fired Donald Trump sundae.
Alright, let's do it.
This is a glorious mess.
This is.
The Cheeto ice cream actually is incredibly reminiscent
of Captain Crunch, which I am so not upset about.
I'm here for that, yeah.
So now we're gonna build the Hot Sauce in her Bag
which is our Hillary sundae.
And we're gonna start with a blueberry compote,
and then we have our jalapeno ice cream
that we're gonna put on top.
[Alison] And we made this ice cream the same way
that we did the Cheetos one.
It's just no churn, and we infused a heavy cream
with fresh jalapeno.
[Keavy] Alright, and then we're gonna top it
with whipped cream, lemon zest
a little bit of maldon salt,
punch it up a little bit with some chili flakes.
So those are our two sundaes for our two candidates.
You can easily make these at home,
as we've showed you, they're really straight forward,
so come and eat your feelings,
and let's all hope that we're happy at the end of all this.
