If you’re drinking in Austin (remind us why else people come here?), you might as well be drinking outside. The East Side—also known as Hipsterville U.S.A.—is where you’ll find all the nightclubs, the country music places, and some of the best taco trucks. We’re drawn to one of its coolest, most popular drinking spots for its fenced-off picnic tables and bearded skinny guys battling the loud grackles (crow-like birds that are the unofficial mascot of Austin—they’re everywhere!) as they drink spicy micheladas and snack on seasoned saltines under the trees.

PRO TIP: Don’t ignore the food. Mezze, carrot salad—you’d be surprised what goes with beer. Weekends, they host one of the best al fresco brunches in town.

THE DETAILS: Open daily, 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
