Joël Robuchon

Joël Robuchon is the place to propose, celebrate your retirement, or announce your recent acquisition of a small country. With drinks, dinner for two will cost you over $500—but that price tag comes with three Michelin stars from France’s most celebrated chef. The rating proves itself with the over-the-top bread service (um, is that is a foot-tall block of butter being carved by your waiter?) and those adorable little “purse stools” so your bag needn’t rest on the—lushly carpeted—floor. The banquettes and drapery are royal purple, heavy, and velvet, giving the room an air of ridiculous opulence. No matter. The tasting menu’s best bets are the frog leg fritters—this is classic French, after all—and the grilled lobster in green curry. Dress fancy and be on your best behavior: This is where the grown-ups eat in Vegas.

PRO TIP: Desserts are often overlooked on tasting menus, but don’t pass on le pamplemousse. (Campari-grapefruit sorbet: Need we say more?)

THE DETAILS: Monday-Sunday, 5:30 p.m.-10 p.m.
