GO HERE: when you want a real-deal British tea service without the touristy nonsense. Just come to this plush 19th-century hotel, where the servers are, um, steeped in tea knowledge thanks to 150 years of tradition, as well as their training by the Rare Tea Company. Finger sandwiches, scones, frilly pastries—it’s all here, and all as good as you’d hoped.

ORDER THE: traditional afternoon tea. Good luck choosing from the 24 teas.

THE VIBE IS: Maybe a little stuffy, but isn’t that what you’re coming for?

PRACTICAL STUFF: Dress code is “elegant sport casual,” which would be an excellent band name. No shorts, sportswear or baseball caps, please. Tea is served daily at 2:45 p.m., 3 p.m., 3:15 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 4:45 p.m., 5 p.m., 5:15 p.m., and 5:30 p.m. Reserve online.
