An all-day Philly café that actually nails the “all day” part.

GO HERE: whether you want an awesome breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner. Res Ipsa does just that, getting it right from house-made English muffins in the morning all the way to spaghetti with clams late at night.

ORDER THE: egg-and-cheese breakfast sandwich with fennel-cardamom sausage—served on one of those pillow-y soft English muffins—and a side of potatoes for breakfast. For dinner, don’t miss the agrodolce chicken, which is extremely tender and covered in the sweet, tangy Italian sauce.

THE VIBE IS: chilled out and intimate. With fewer than 30 seats, breakfast feels relaxed and dinner feels special. The white room also gets some great light, so it’s not uncommon to find young Rittenhouse locals posted up all morning with a laptop and their third cup of coffee.

GETTING IN: doesn’t require a reservation for breakfast or lunch, but you might as well book a week out for dinner—the space fills up quickly.

THE BOOZE: is whatever you want it to be. Like many Philly restaurants, Res Ipsa is BYOB. Make some room in your bag for a magnum of Lambrusco.
