Portland gets a grown-up boutique hotel, courtesy of the Starwood Group. And while it doesn’t have the unique charm of, say, the Ace, the LEED-certified hotel, set in a former department store, does its best to make you comfortable. The feminine rooms, with their tufted white leather headboards, teal velvet settees, and brocade Louis XIV chairs, are a quiet respite from nearby Pioneer Square.
