In the current issue of BA (July 2009: The BBQ Issue) there's a smart story titled "Around the World in 80 Dogs" in which we give a globe-trotting list of ways to dress up the all-American hot dog. In the magazine, we had space for only six recipes and pictures. What about the remaining 74 hot dogs? Don't they deserve some camera time? Thanks to our online team, especially Associate Multimedia Editor Emily Fleischaker and web programmer Barrett Baffert, you can now see what, say, a Oaxacan and Peking dog looks like. That's right--the online team prepared and photographed 74 hot dogs for this cool slideshow. A few on my list of top dogs to look for:
Creole--Fried green tomatoes and remoulade
Catalan--Aioli and a sprinkle of smoked paprikia
Vietnamese--Sriracha, cilantro, and shredded carrots
