We Ate (Almost) Everything in San Francisco—and Left Our Hearts There, Too

Here's everything we ate (and drank!) at this weekend's San Francisco Grub Crawl.

Bon Appétit Grub Crawls are a notoriously great party. Each crawl dives into the culinary offerings of a city with a parade of cocktails, craft beer, fine wine, and a sampling of the best eats in the area, from food trucks to noteworthy restaurants.

We went extra big for this weekend's San Francisco Crawl through the Mission and Hayes Valley, kicking the day off with ceviche, carnitas, and margaritas—and it only got better from there. We'll gaze longingly at these highlights as we daydream about next year's crawl. You'll join us, won't you?

    Souvlas at Souvla! We had our pick from pork shoulder with minty Greek yogurt, chicken with “Granch” (Greek ranch; it's a thing and it's amazing), and white sweet potato with kalamata olives, toasted walnuts, and Mizithra cheese.

    Yogurt with sour cherry syrup, crushed baklava, and olive oil with sea salt hit the spot. "My kind of not-too-sweet dessert," said Bon Appétit restaurant and drinks editor Andrew Knowlton.

    In the afternoon, we trekked to the Mission for round two of the crawl. Awaiting us were these glasses of sipping chocolate with a violet marshmallow from Craftsman and Wolves. These look decadent, and they definitely were. Can we have another?
