What to Bring Back From the Coolest Store in All of New Mexico
Just outside of downtown Albuquerque is an adorable lavender farm (yes, you read that right), where The Los Poblanos Farm Shop sells the kind locally-sourced bath, food, and gardening products that make you want to put that Plan B in action and trade in your wardrobe for a pair of overalls and Hunter boots. The white wooden shelves are stocked with brown-paper-wrapped soaps, spice-filled jars, and wooden toys—almost everything is sourced from New Mexico, from the chile-dusted pistachios to the one-of-a-kind wooden cutting boards. Still, the most popular items are made extremely close to home: “Lavender counts for half of our sales,” says Bill Stimmel, the shop’s manager. And no worries about weighing down your carry-on with their cult-following lavender salve—the shop will send everything you buy back home for a $15 flat fee. Here’s your list.
