By nature, I'm not an early riser. But I get up at 6 a.m. towork out with my kids, who are 12 and 14, before school. My son is new to ourhousehold full-time. I vary the workouts, we run about 2 miles, and we changethat up, sometimes we do sprints instead, that's about 15-20 minutes, then westretch out, and I do martial arts with them, body weight exercise, core work.My 8-year-old girl tries to copy us. We'll do a yoga tape, different things, mix it up so they don't get bored.
I think it's good for them to work out, to be in shape to behealthy, and that's when I get to talk to them every day. They hit showers at7:30, and I get breakfast ready.
Breakfast changes from day to day. My wife does most of thecooking, [but] I like to get breakfast together. The kids eat what we eat. I doegg whites with a couple whole eggs, vegetables, we throw in some baconsometimes, every once in a while some pancakes, fruit--a lot of fruits. We do alot of juicing, too--different recipes, my wife likes kale, beets, celerycucumbers. If you play with stuff enough, you can make it healthy and taste goodat the same time. I drink one of the Xyience hydration drinks, fruit punch ismy favorite.
I am a food person, so I like good food. If you say ittastes good, I'll give it a shot. When I'm training for a fight, though, itbecomes pretty regimented.
I might take the kids to school--or my wife will or ourfriend--and then come home and get the rest of my day figured out. Usually Iget another workout in: I go and hike a lot of times--It's a way to wakemyself up. I always end up getting more done on the days I work out in themorning.
