The 2016 Food Lover's Cleanse includes simple do-ahead work—a good strategy anytime. Here are several recipes you'll be using throughout the cleanse:

Cooking grains in a bigger pot of boiling salted water is a great way to cook all of your grains from brown rice to barley.

Little effort and big flavor. Use these in everything—sandwiches, salads, yogurt dips, roasted vegetables, and more.

Portion out the oatmeal in individual containers so even if you're running out the door, you won't skip breakfast.

For the salad dressings below, we suggest making half batches at a time:

As you go through the week, make sure to shake again to recombine ingredients. You can add a couple of drops of lemon juice to each salad you make to refresh the dressing.

Like the whole grain mustard dressing, adding a bit of lemon or lime juice to the dressing gives it a nice refresh.

The active cultures in kimchi and miso may also provide your body with an immunity boost.
