President Obama has been brewing his own beer at the White House for a while now, and the American brewing public has started clamoring for the President to release the recipe. The beer, called White House Honey Ale, is brewed with honey from Michelle Obama's garden beehive and has recently popped up on the campaign trail.

Last week, curious quaffers started a petition at the Obama administration's "We the People" website calling for the Honey Ale recipe to be released to the public. But as of three days ago, according to the Government Executive, the petition only had 276 of a required 25,000 signatures, so one Reddit user, imatexasda, submitted a Freedom of Information Act request for the documents containing the Honey Ale recipe.

Unfortunately, the White House is not subject to the Freedom of Information Act, so that effort didn't really take off. But just last night, Press Secretary Jay Carney tweeted that, if the petition reaches its 25,000 signature goal, they will release the recipe!

The petition is at 4,941 signatures right now, and we have until September 17 to meet the quota. We can do it! Go exercise your constitutional right to ask the government for its beer recipe!
