DIY Citrus Cleaner

When I'm cleaning my kitchen at home,
I try to avoid using really gnarly chemicals
so instead what I prefer to use
is distilled white vinegar, you put it
in a spray bottle, spray it on everything,
the only problem is that it does make your kitchen
kind of smell like a fish and chip shop.
Enter citrus vinegar.
It's especially nice during the wintertime
when you have big cases of citrus
available in every supermarket,
it's just the kind of thing that you have
on your counter for a snack.
If you save the peels, pour vinegar over them,
wait a little bit, you'll have
an awesome, delicious-smelling cleanser.
You can just keep a jar like this in your fridge.
Whenever you have a peel, just sling it right in there.
You don't want any of the fruit
'cause that will add some sugar to the mixture
and will kind of make things a little sticky,
so you're just looking for the clean peel and pith.
It's perfect for things like clementines
and navel oranges and really can use
any citrus that you want.
Alright cool, now that we have this jar
full of citrus peels, we're gonna take
distilled white vinegar and we're
just gonna pour it in to cover our citrus peels.
Put a lid on it, we're gonna let this sit out
at room temperature for a week, two weeks
is kinda optimal, that's gonna give it
plenty of time to extract all those oils
from the citrus peels, which is what's gonna give
the citrus vinegar it's bright, citrus-y scent.
Here is some citrus vinegar that I made
a couple of weeks ago, you can see it just
kind of took on a little bit
of the yellow color from that citrus.
You just pour it into a bottle
and then you're ready to clean everything.
You can clean the sink, you can clean the refrigerator,
you can clean your filthy mouth.
(coughing)
healthy-ish.
Maybe not in the mouth.
Should I clean other things?
[Man] No.
