GO HERE: for the artist’s loft of a hotel, with hotspots downstairs from serial hitmaker Gabe Stulman: Studio (an all-day spot with excellent pastries from Zoe Kanan), cocktail-slinging George Washington Bar, and neighborhood restaurant-oriented Simon & The Whale (don’t skip on black bread with salty, cured roe dip, taramasalata).

THE VIBE IS: lively. You’ll run into coworkers meandering the snake plant-lined hallway between Studio and George Washington Bar, Gramercy freelancers hanging out for happy hour (or attempting to work) in this same space, and hotel guests tucking in at the restaurants. It’s aiming to be an all-purpose kind of place and nailing it.

PRACTICAL STUFF: Rates start at $200, for both traditional (queen, king) and shared (aka bunk bed) rooms.
