Menu misspellings happen. Dine out often enough and you'll eventuallycome across "chipolte," "mozarella," and other goofs. They'reunfortunate mistakes but they're forgivable. The menu above from a newspot near my apartment in Park Slope, Brooklyn, however, takes theoccasional error to the level of creative writing. A few examples:"Caprase" salad, "Geta" olives, and "Prosouto." "SpaghettiBologrease,"--yes that's what it says--is very unfortunate for obvious reasons. Is the joke on us? Is this some stealth marketing? Ihope so.
UPDATE 8/11: Alas, "Spaghetti Bologrease" has been renamed "Spaghetti with meat sauce." But a new dish, "Maryland Carb Cakes" has been added, continuing the proud tradition of head-scratching misspellings.
