At Thakoon's Fashion Week Dinner, What They Wore (and Ate)

"Plaid boxer shorts. Always." That's what designer Thakoon prefers to cook in at home, he told us last night, at our dinner party celebrating his Spring 2014 show at New York Fashion Week. We filled the three-level space at Haven's Kitchen with members of the fashion (Christina Ricci, Elettra Wiedemann, Lynn Yaeger) and food sets, as well as pungent, garlicky scents flowing from Mission Chinese Food chef Danny Bowien's kitchen. (The dish of the night: chilled egg noodles with ginger scallion sauce, cucumber, and charred eel.)

But back to Thakoon. What he likes to cook when he's in those boxer shorts: Thai food, mainly. What's always in his fridge: Chobani yogurt, red cabbage, and Sancerre. We asked the same question of Bowien and found that it's a rotating cast of clean, simple ingredients—broth, chicken, greens—because he cooks for his pregnant wife almost every night. (Aw.) And for AERIN founder Aerin Lauder, who never cooks with a recipe, it's eggs, eggs, eggs. Also: she likes to grill in white jeans, just like someone else we know.
