What Bon Appétit Is Cooking, Eating, and Drinking, April 25–27

The weekend is almost here, but we're already fantasizing about the food and drink we're going to dive into this weekend. From an aquavit cocktail to a new look at radishes, here's what we've got planned.
Danny Kim1/9Radishes with Burrata
"I had burrata last night at dinner for the first time in far too long, and now I can't get it out of my head. I'm cooking for my friend's birthday dinner this weekend, so I'm planning to get the festivities going with these gorgeous watermelon radishes and the cheese of dreams." —Belle Cushing, editorial assistant
Timothy McSweeney2/9Skillet-Fried Potatoes
"Camping season is starting, and every morning, I cook a skillet-fried potato mash situation. Use a copious amount of coconut oil, then season diced potatoes with salt, pepper, and El Capitan spice from Green Point spice company. Start by sautéing sliced onions, then toss in the seasoned potatoes. Cover the pot and toss it in the fire—or on a grill with fire underneath (use a Whisperlite if necessary). Toss them every once in a while so they cook evenly. The coconut oil will give the potatoes an insanely good flavor. Add diced avocado on top…and eat! In general everything is better cooked on a campfire and eaten in the dirt." —Timothy McSweeney, designer

"It's go time: A friend and I are hosting a Nordic-themed dinner party, so aquavit—and this cocktail—are a must. We may or may not devolve into shots of the the spirit with caraway seeds." —Rochelle Bilow, web staff writer
4/9Wedding Cake, Pasta, and Pancakes
"Wedding cake and finger food tonight! Promises to be decent (an old friend is getting hitched). And I feel I need to eat french toast or pancakes at some point. You know, getting ready for bikini season. Also, Sunday night is becoming pasta night. I'm helping a friend move this weekend so we'll probably just go simple with lots of garlic and herbs. You know, getting ready for bikini season." —Dawn Perry, senior food editor

"I am definitely making the rhubarb raspberry tart after being inspired by Carla Lalli Music." —Rachel Tomlinson, associate photo editor
6/9Carolina Pulled-Pork Sandwiches
"This is the first Sunday since spring arrived that I have nothing to do, so I'll finally have time to smoke a pork shoulder. The plan: Get up early, fire up the smoker, fill a cooler, work in the yard, then by mid-afternoon sit down and enjoy pulled-pork sandwiches and a couple cold beers on the deck." —Greg Ferro, managing editor
7/9Vietnamese Iced Coffee
"I'm banking on Vietnamese iced coffee weather." —Carla Lalli Music, food & features editor
Michael Graydon + Nikole Herriott8/9Salads and Minty Pea Dip
"Well, I just discovered my gas is not turned on in my apartment—so I'll be eating a lot of salads. Also going to make some minty-pea dip with Aleppo à la Canal House." —Alison Roman, senior associate food editor
Matt Duckor9/9Dirt Bombs
"I'll be in Connecticut for the weekend with friends, and I'll be sure to pick up some Dirt Bombs from Bantam Bread Bakery. (And if that sounds appealing, you're in luck: We've got the awesome recipe in the magazine this month.)" —Meryl Rothstein, senior editor
