Yesterday, as copies of our June issue began to reach readers, there was a collective gasp heard round the Internet. (Well, at least the parts devoted to food and celebrity.) Yes, BA put a person on the cover. A living, breathing person! As opposed to, say, a stack of cupcakes.
As Editor in Chief Adam Rapoport wrote in a letter to our readers, this is something we'll do a few times a year, going forward.
Is this the first time a human being has been the focus of a cover of Bon Appetit? Absolutely not. Is it the first time in a while? Yes.
Herewith, a brief history of the food-loving men and women (and cartoon mice) who've been on the cover of Bon Appetit over the past 30 yeras.
