“The thing I love about this cake is that Shilpa imbues the frosting with a lot of salty, deeply caramelized flavor. By using brown butter, dark brown sugar, and a generous amount of salt, it perfectly balances out all the sweetness and makes for a very moreish slice.” —Jesse Szewczyk, senior test kitchen editor

“I could write a million words about Emma Laperruque’s sheet-pan halloumi, but I’ll keep it brief. This recipe has stolen my heart. It boasts all the virtues of a sheet-pan dinner—ease, minimal fuss, ready in 30—but feels extremely special. Golden nuggets of halloumi mingle with toasty pita, creamy avocado, bright citrus, and a honey-lime dressing to tie it all together. It’s a refreshing change from the formulaic protein-grain-green dishes in my weeknight rotation, and just as easy to pull off.” —Zoe Denenberg, contributor

“Delightfully easy to make with minimal ingredients, this showstopper came together in all of 10 minutes on a Tuesday night. The cobbler topping was buttery and fluffy, and baking it all in a cast-iron pan created a fun textural play with crisp edges and pools of bubbling blueberries. I served it warm out of the oven with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream.” —Ali Inglese, director of content production

“What is a chocolate chip cookie without the chips? Senior test kitchen editor Shilpa Uskokovic bravely set out to find the answer. And while I knew she would land on something good, what she accomplished was something so good, I had to make a batch at home immediately. Shilpa’s Chocolate Chipless Cookies are for all the people obsessed with this oddball flavor. But they’re also for the rest of us—like me and perhaps you—the chocolate lovers, the chipless skeptics, the people happy to be proven wrong.” —Emma Laperruque, associate director of cooking
