Snow storms are headed for the Northeast again. But that's just fine because aren't we always looking for reasons to indulge in warming, comforting foods? There are very specific dishes we like to eat to get through the cold nights, whether it's a bowl of hot soup or a bag of salt and vinegar potato chips.
We asked our Facebook friends what their favorite meal to cook on thecoldest day of the year was, and we received an overwhelming number ofresponses. Top contenders included chili, meat stews, pasta, fresh bakedbread, pot roast, cornbread, and braised short ribs. We definitely cameacross a few suggestions to try the next time we're snowed in.

My favorite recipe is a venison sausage, ground bison, and black beanchili stewed slow in a cast-iron dutch oven. I have a few "secret"ingredients that make it smokey, sweet, and spicy all at the same time. It's legit.
